shrek

Have been on an animated movie spree off late and believe me if there's one and only one of these animated flicks that you have the time to watch you HAVE TO HAVE TO pick this one. the creativity,the music, the humour and the animation couldn't get better. i had watched shrek 2 before i watched this one and had thought nothing gets better than that one. when i started i thought that lets watch it to complete watching this series, and did not expect it to entertain a person who already had an idea of what it was about. but then i was obviously mistakened. its brilliant. its entertainment in the true sense of the word :)

a hard day's night

i have always enjoyed their music and this black and white movie was a nice watch....the sing and dance and fun young boys running around.
i liked it more for the songs, the Beatles hair style and the really animated expressions these guys have and the charm of the black and white.
well prejudiced towards these one or two favourites i have... and don't really mind declaring this one in the really short list.

laughter riot....well I've not seen meet the parents and i directly watched this one. i thought it was a really good fun movie :)...
the awkwardness of two new families meeting and attempt at "lets keep everyone happy" was really well portrayed.
the getting out of the "circle of trust", the kid who's first word is an abuse, a hi tech pop in law and totally crazy hugging loving family, ha ha... they were all SO awesome. i so liked it...
i recommend a watch for a lazy afternoon or late evening... not sure about a family watch though :P

a really good fun movie... its not super smart and intellectual or food for thought types, but sure is really entertaining. :)
i had good fun watching it.... set in Mexico, that typical accent sure makes you smile. the chemistry between the two leads is awesome and it sure make the movie quite a success as an entertainer.
light, fun comedy. you want to relax, this is what you wanna watch.
an added plus for the men, as the ladies look gorgeous! :)

Pangea Day

the films screened on pangea day were absolutely BRILLIANT.
each one better that the other.
creativity personified. sigh! i'd urge all to not miss these. they're available on the site.

my favourites:

elevator music- an amazing way of communicating. a lovely way of say 'shut up' and respect people around.

inja: really well made. you cant not feel helpless.

i'll wait for the next one: sigh! brings out the emotion in a way you could've not imagined. sigh!

papiroflexia: my favourite. how ? how did the person manage to think like this. i was stunned with the creativity.

the telephone game: AMAZING...ha ha

the ball: :) wow...brilliantly made.

well well.... just go watch ALL of them listed there.

you've got mail

yay! really sweet romantic comedy. i enjoyed watching it.
best part, it moved quite fast. SO loved the store round the corner bookstore, the 'you've got mail', F-O-X, the shopgirl (he he), i bought intel at 6 and all and all...
yay! good fun.
a nice light happy happy movie. :)
( i know i know.... i should've watched it ages ago.... but then sigh! there are a few that you just miss out on! and you really cant help it, and its only some lazy evening like today's that you manage to get to clear LONG LONG pending ones :) )

u, me aur hum

wasn't expecting too much when i started watching the movie(hadn't got the best reviews). almost half way down the movie i was like why? why dont they think of something better? i was so tired of the typical bollywood 'boy pataos girl movie' sigh!
then the course changed, and i was pleasantly surprised... it did hold my attention. some songs and sidey acting by few actors and unoriginal parts in the scripts do bug at times, but can be ignored.
i did not think it was too bad a watch. infact i thought it was decent.

i think this movie is quite brilliant, or maybe i'm letting my impression of the main character spill over my impression of the movie. well... in either case you watch the movie(to be impressed by the character if not the whole).

i really enjoyed watching this one. the title of this one makes you get some kinda notion about it. well YES the movie is about cigarettes and smoking, but not the way you think it to be.

if 'oh this is yet another social cause movie' thought is preventing you from picking this one up, i'd say 'no nono no no NO'

pick it up and watch it. you don't wanna miss this one.

one of my ALL time favourites! released in 1992, and i still enjoy it almost as much as i did the first time.

based on inter school rivalry and carefree teenagers. very well made sports drama movie. parts of it may seem childish but the WHOLE package is GOOD fun. i could watch it over and over and over. :)
if you looking for some nice entertainment... comedy, drama and action(of a little different kind) this is what you want to watch :)

Damn this is SUCH a waste of time! sheesh! SO much hype over nothing. 'tashan' had become of peoples daily vocab here, i'm sure they kick themselves everytime they say it after the movie is released!

a movie based on "dhirubhai ambani"(i personally admire the work he's done).

i really liked this movie. i really like the fact that the movie was based entirely on how a person tackled his growth in the industry.

other than one or two songs that don't fit in, i really liked the movie.

i also liked the little other messages that the movie sent out, about hard work, about the strength and support of a wife, about confidence, about being driven about a cause, about respect, vulnerabilities of physical disabilities and the desire to rise above.

recommend a watch.

at the start of the movie i thought this was a movie about hardcore sales and was super excited!
but sigh!
it WAS about sales but then i was quite disappointed. ya it did mention the make a sales pitch and the pressure and competition and how something small can ruin everything and all and all. bit none of it was WOW.
well...still waiting to see a nice movie on the subject.

the bucket list

an ok movie. i was'nt too impressed, maybe cause we've seen quite on similar lines.now that we've seen a few like this, it'll take some real effort to break the monotony and create a WOW movie with a similar concept.

you could watch it if you dont really have anything else to do. it wont be a waste of time. but u sure could find better.

you've NOT come accross such a concept before...

i'm amazed at someone having thought of the concept and having put it so well in a movie. you have to watch it. its a experience.

i personally like light drama movies and this one is SO not my kind, but i'd still say it was an experience worth having.

it drove me crazy.by the time you start understanding what is happening in the movie, you start looking for the plot. and by time you think you know the plot, or are atleast getting a hang of it, you're at the climax. and the climax hits you so hard, you're left in a daze well after the movie is over.

It was right then that I started thinking about Thomas Jefferson on the Declaration of Independence and the part about our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And I remember thinking how did he know to put the pursuit part in there? That maybe happiness is something that we can only pursue and maybe we can actually never have it. No matter what. How did he know that?

well couldn't agree more.

the movie is based on a real story, so naturally nothing hi fi. but i think its a must watch. it drives home a point, and some parts(like the two mentioned above) just get stuck in your head.
i really enjoyed watching this one. its one i can watch over and over.

well... a nice movie.

it held my attention for the full two hours (approx). if you're looking for a 'twist in the tail' kinda movies then yes you could count on this one for sure. predictability and the movie run opposite directions.

quite well done. the emotions were very well put across, guilt, anger, love... almost to perfection. to the extent that during the not so pleasant times i felt that i need to watch something positive, and during the pleasant times i wanted the moments to last longer.commendable.

the movie every two minutes seems to be mocking you: "oh so you wanted to watch a movie???!! eat this!" honest!
i really don't know what they were trying to achieve when they were making this one! an absolute waste of time, completely senseless. it does not even fit into the masala entertainer category.
i stop here(i don't even feel like giving it anymore space here.)

a movie on drugs/ addiction.

REALLY REALLY well made movie.

i did not have the heart to be able to watch it at a stretch. it scared me quite a bit. the way the movie is directed, the effects, the background score... it really did require a little bit of courage to sit through. the drugs and addiction shown here do end up giving chills(or shall i say sweats).

if you looking out for an entertainer then this might not be one movie you want to pick up. but if you looking for a GOOD, well made movie, it could be one of the top few contenders for a pick.
